Terms and Conditions

All transactions are processed in Australian Dollars (AUD) and by engaging Platinum - PI’s products and services, you accept and agree to be bound by our full, terms and conditions. 

Payment is required to be provided and cleared in full for all products and services prior to the undertaking, release, delivery and application of all products and services. Invoices will not be valid until the funds have cleared. Any additional costs incurred in processing payments and expediting clearance of funds may be billed In the event the client fails to make payment for products and services already received, the client shall make payment within seven (7) days of Platinum - PI serving a final account upon the client or be liable for all additional cost incurred in attempting to recover the overdue amounts until the balance has been paid in full. If during an investigation service, the Client received an extension of services on credit and incurred a further outstanding amount owed to Platinum - PI, then Platinum - PI may withhold all results, products and services until the amount has been paid in full.

Upon the customer’s payment being cleared and confirmed and Platinum - PI receiving the order, at least two (2) business days’ notice may be required before Platinum - PI can process, book, apply and or undertake the requested products and services.

Private Investigator and Detective Services

Platinum - PI will at no time undertake any conduct or action which is or could be in contravention of criminal or civil law in the State or Jurisdiction within which the conduct or action is conducted. Platinum - PI’s investigators will only carryout investigations and surveillance where there is no knowledge or reason to suspect there is an intention to cause the Subject to fear physical or mental harm and the Client is obligated to notify Platinum - PI of any contrary knowledge as soon as available. Platinum - PI’s investigation and surveillance services are engaged only to lawfully observe and report. As generally most clients are not qualified and professional private investigators, Platinum - PI reserves the right to make all operational decisions including regards to safety, how and what tasks are performed and what locations are attended and the Client accepts Platinum - PI’s authority in all operational judgments. Platinum - PI may rely on standard industry practises, procedures, training, expertise, and experience for all operational decisions including regards to safety, discretion, and collection of information. The Client warrants that the representations and information supplied by them in relation to the assignment are true and correct and accepts that operational decisions and advice will be based on and influenced by the information they have provided to Platinum - PI. The Client accepts that Platinum - PI shall rely on the truthfulness, completeness and accuracy of all statements and information supplied by the Client. The Client may only advise Platinum - PI on background information with regards to their case as Platinum - PI reserves the right to make all operational decisions in meeting the Client’s objectives referring to industry practices, procedures, training, expertise, and experience. Platinum - PI bears no responsibility for any additional irrelevant background information and or incorrect requests provided by the Client that fall outside the agreed and or correct standard service parameters to be provided by Platinum - PI. Platinum - PI bears no acceptance of any ill-informed, incorrect notions, illegal and or non-existent service requests made by the Client including unauthorised phone and computer hacking, GPS tracking and access to information held by other institutions and authorities where access is prohibited. Generally private investigators in Australia do not have extraordinary legal access to information held by government and or private institutions and or provide illegal hacking and GPS tracking abilities above the general public including with the Police records, Centrelink office, Visa and Immigration department, Tax office, Motor registries, Roads and Maritime authorities, Bank and Telecommunication institution records. Australian private investigators also may not illegally facilitate nor generally have the capability to hack someone’s phone or computer, GPS track someone’s movements and property and or install a recording device on private property without consent and if you are found guilty of such criminal offences, may be imprisoned up to five years in some Australian jurisdictions. Thus, Platinum - PI private investigator services are undertaken in our appropriate, correct and or legal available licensed methods of investigation to investigate your objectives and investigation types. The Client must also allow sufficient and reasonable time to provide and receive any new information regarding their case including at least two (2) business days’ for email correspondence. As a general guide, if the Client wishes to provide Platinum - PI with urgent and or instant information, they should attempt to do so by telephone first, depending on availability and appropriateness in receiving the information however, accuracy cannot be guaranteed.

Platinum - PI bear no responsibility for any ill-informed, incorrect notions, illegal and or non-existent service requests and conclusions made by the customer that fall outside our normal product and service parameters and it is the customer’s absolute responsibility to read, understand, consider, research and choose private investigation products and services carefully and or seek a professional consultation with Platinum - PI prior to the purchase of any and all our products and services.

Platinum - PI database and or other search information may be collected and provided from third party data and a range of sources including government organisations, publicly available information, and businesses where third party information is collected in such circumstances where individuals over eighteen (18) years of age would reasonably expect their personal information to be collected in accordance with privacy laws and policies. Platinum - PI assumes no responsibility for the accuracy, disclosure, and consequential use of this information. Note, it is not guaranteed that your Target’s details and every person’s details in general will be found on all databases and searches however our fees and charges stand for the undertaking of work to perform all searches irrespective whether there are any listings or the results found. Contrary to any other incorrect notions, Platinum - PI expends significant work merely to perform the Client’s requested searches and investigations and the service fee relates to this regardless of the listings and results found.

All pre-priced investigation surveillance packages require a minimum 2-hour / 2 product quantity order per callout at the applicable rates, unless in exceptional circumstances, Platinum - PI have pre-approved a lesser amount prior to order with regards to the case circumstances. All investigation surveillance package orders are required to be completed in full as ordered and cannot be changed, split, cancelled, credited and or refunded as our cost of acceptance also incorporates our expenses including work, time, travel, disbursements, reporting, administration, management, and consultation. Only in pre-approved exceptional circumstances at our absolute discretion, Platinum - PI may make changes and amendments as necessary to complete the investigation surveillance package orders. Results and outcomes of the investigation surveillance package orders are not guaranteed, are subject to conditions at the time of the service, will be influenced by the accuracy of the information provided by the Client, will be provided within standard, appropriate and legal industry procedure and cannot affect the completion and or final payment of the product order. With all investigation surveillance package orders, surveillance will commence in the vicinity of the address nominated by the Client and at a time in consideration of the time nominated by the Client and determined by Platinum - PI. As per standard and correct procedure, the commencement of the surveillance is typically required at least one (1) hour prior to any forecast activity. Upon undertaking the investigation surveillance, Platinum - PI will employ standard, correct, and legal surveillance practises and assess the location and requirements and adopt an appropriate surveillance position whilst considering the Client’s investigation objectives. Platinum - PI will employ standard, correct, and legal surveillance practises and observe, report and obtain video evidence when and where relevant, appropriate, possible and permitted. It is the Client’s responsibility to propose surveillance at a time that allows sufficient time for the surveillance operative to assess, setup an appropriate surveillance position and to limit the chance of missing any crucial activities and also to ensure they purchase enough surveillance time to maintain surveillance of any important continuing activities. The surveillance package time will be charged at a minimum of one hour (60 minute) increments and consists of one (1) callout for up to the duration and or amount of time allotted in your purchase order only and includes the use of one (1) surveillance operative only, one (1) surveillance vehicle only, travel to the general area specified in the package only, one (1) written surveillance activity report per package (PDF File) sent by email, and depending on the video size/length and availability and or upon the Client’s confirmation within seven (7) days of notification; one (1) DVD video disk per package sent by post within Australia. Requests for video files to be delivered on other formats such as USB drives and SD cards will require advance payment of an additional Miscellaneous Service Fee to be determined and calculated at the time and nature of the request. Allowances have been factored in to the investigation surveillance packages for disbursements such as public transport costs, motorway tolls, minor car park fees and minor premises entry fees up to the value of $20.00 (Australian Dollars) in total, thereafter surveillance will continue in such a manner where further disbursements are not required. In consideration of the surveillance starting address nominated by the Client, Platinum - PI will employ correct surveillance practices and decide the appropriate mode of travel whether it be by motor vehicle, public transport and or on foot, for each surveillance operative depending on the starting address and investigation background information supplied by the Client in advance. The Client is also required in advance to forecast any additional requirements, disbursement costs, geographic locations outside the designated package area and or the use of more than one (1) surveillance operative regarding a surveillance investigation and make prior arrangements with Platinum - PI to cover additional requests where and if possible and or seek a consultation with Platinum - PI.

Research and inquiry investigations will be based and dependant on the scope of work, background information and objectives supplied by the Client. Investigation methods, tasks, products, and services will be determined and performed accordingly within the product purchase parameters as outlaid at the time of purchase. Results and search information may be collected from third party data and a range of sources including open-source internet, publicly available information, government departments, media, and businesses where information may be provided in accordance with privacy policies. Platinum - PI makes no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, about the accuracy, reliability, suitability, completeness, availability, and consequential use of the information.

Customers may search and order our private investigation products/services relating to their objectives, from our website, by telephone, email and invoice and our full website policies, terms and conditions apply regardless of the method of order. The customer will bear the full responsibility to read and understand our website policies, terms, and conditions and to click on each product/service which provides an overview, product description and instructions how to order. Private investigation services may traditionally be a combination of different searches, products and services incorporated together, so even though we transparently individually itemise each investigation product/service, we still highly recommend customers order a combination of different products/services to meet their objectives and achieve their desired result however, may still order only one (1) product/service for the budget conscious. Customers should not expect and may not receive additional private investigation products/service that they have not ordered, as our fees only incorporate the products/services ordered and paid for. If a customer requires additional products/services, then they are required to make additional orders for those products/services and pay in full their applicable fees.

In consideration of the case objectives, the Client accepts all fees are charged and payable for the undertaking of work, time, consultation, management, travel, products, services, and expenses regardless of the results found and achieved however Platinum - PI will at all times employ its best skills, expertise, diligence and judgment to meet the Client’s objectives. There are no cancelations or refunds for all our private investigator, detective and investigation products and services as, as soon as your order is placed, received and approved, Platinum - PI may apply and provide services to the customer as part of our incorporated product fee structure that may include services such as credit/debit card payment fees, processing, consultation with the customer (including by telephone, email and meeting), administration, assessment, planning, preparation, management, undertaking of work, investigation, surveillance, searches, database searches, lookups, research, inquiries, time, travel, expenses, background work and compiling your investigation products and services, in addition to all our product descriptions, and regardless of the results found and achieved. The customer is expected to read all product descriptions, terms and conditions prior to order and provide all case details and information as per the product descriptions or we may reallocate product order quotas to our consultation service and or the customer may be required to order extra Investigation Phone-Email Consultation to cover any extra work outside the product order service parameters. Platinum - PI may make determinations and complete the investigation services contracted at our discretion within the appropriate and reasonable times and in further events where the investigation products and services contracted cannot be completed within a three (3) months period from the date of order due to circumstances (including compromising, safety, risk and lawfulness concerns, insufficient information, the Client hinders and or does not allow completion and the Client refuses to claim and or receive the products or services) then Platinum - PI may further re-evaluate the service, rates and fees and or complete the services as necessary at our discretion and or the Client will forfeit any remaining paid balances as part of Platinum - PI’s management costs.

For all our investigation products and services in general, all investigation case information and requests should be provided within the designated and specified manner in one (1) lot. Any additional case information and or requests falling outside our designated and specified structure may not be accepted and or received, by acquiring additional work outside our paid service parameters. If required, the Client may also incur an additional consultation or service fee to provide and or receive investigation case information and or requests outside our normal service structure. The Client should also not withhold any minor or invaluable case information from us that may assist in our investigation products and services. As such, the Client accepts investigation decisions, results and outcomes will be based on and influenced by the information they have provided to Platinum - PI and we bear no responsibility due to any missing, non-received, misunderstood, incorrect and or consequential use of the information. Where the Client is required to provide case investigation information in the Case Info Form supplied by Platinum - PI, the Client must provide all relevant information in this form in one (1) lot otherwise any additional information sent to Platinum - PI outside this structure may not be accepted and or received by Platinum - PI. The Case Info Form is required to be completed, saved and emailed back to Platinum - PI as a Word Document file and the Client should include as much helpful background information as possible such as all addresses, motor vehicle details, modes of travel and people’s descriptions. Platinum - PI bears no responsibility for any additional irrelevant background information and or requests provided by the Client that fall outside the agreed and or standard services to be provided by Platinum - PI. For identification purposes, the Client is also required to attach and send in the same email, any photographs and clear pictures of the Subjects to be investigated and or concerned in the investigation.

Platinum - PI, on goodwill, will endeavour to address all customer communications, enquiries and information as soon as possible however, contacting Platinum - PI will appropriately be subject to availability and the customer cannot warrant that Platinum - PI should instantly receive all communication on demand. All forms of communication in general may require a minimum two (2) business days to be received and reviewed. The customer cannot warrant an email message is an instant form of communication but rather a messaging service that may require a minimum two (2) business days to be received and reviewed. The customer may telephone Platinum - PI for urgent communication however will remain subject to appropriate availability and a minimum two (2) business days may be required before receipt and review. Investigations already underway and investigation searches, products and services in general, may not be affected by any customer communication falling outside the minimum two (2) business days required before receipt and review.

Electronic Delivery

Unless stated otherwise, Platinum - PI will send correspondence and all digital products such as downloads, referrals, forms, documents, investigation, and search results to the customer by email. Where the Client is provided products and services by email only, it is the customer’s responsibility to provide the correct email address, ensure they receive their emails and check their spam folders. It is the customer’s responsibility to provide the correct working email address, check their junk folders and ensure they receive their emails without spam blocker interference. Customers using sub-standard email servers inadequate for business correspondence such as Yahoo, Hotmail and Gmail may find it insufficient for such correspondence and may have some emails delivered to junk folders and or blocked and in such cases it is the customer’s responsibility to either locate the emails, change their email settings, contact their email service provider to cease such unwarranted actions, provide a different email address suitable for receiving business correspondence and or contact Platinum - PI to request email delivery from a different email server. The customer also does not warrant a mobile phone will have all the required and correct functions of a proper computer such as a desktop and laptop and the Client accepts, they must be prepared to access the information by such means.

Where we have electronically emailed to the Client forms, investigation requirements and results, the Client does not warrant a mobile phone will have all the required and correct functions of a proper computer such as a desktop and laptop and the Client accepts, they must be prepared to access the information by such means.

Platinum - PI email messages may contain confidential and or privileged material and are intended only for the addressee or their authorised representative. No confidentiality or privilege is waived or lost by any mis-transmission. If the non-intended recipient received the email, they must advise the sender by return email, not use and or disclose the contents, and delete the message and any attachments from their system. Platinum - PI emails are also copyright protected and any use, disclosure, or reproduction of the email(s) by anyone other than the intended recipient(s) is strictly prohibited. Emails may be interfered with, may contain computer viruses or other defects and under no circumstances do Platinum - PI accept liability for any loss or damage which may result from receipt of our email messages or any attachments. Unless specifically indicated, Platinum - PI email messages do not constitute formal advice and may be general in nature.

No claim may be brought before a court of law against Platinum - PI on account of any special or consequential loss suffered through using Platinum - PI’s products or services and the client accepts that all purchases made from Platinum - PI and its associated website(s) are final.

Platinum - PI’s information is privileged and issued without prejudice and or liability for the general and or personal information of those concerned.
